Item rarity: the 4 colors

Critical

Items have 4 color-coded rarity levels:

  • WHITE (Normal): no stats
  • BLUE (Magic): 1 or 2 stats
  • YELLOW (Rare): 3 to 6 stats
  • ORANGE (Unique): fixed special stats with a unique name
  • To upgrade: Orb of Transmutation (White → Blue), Regal Orb (Blue → Yellow), Orb of Alchemy (White → Yellow direct)

Item Level (iLvl)

Critical

Every item has a hidden « level » based on where it dropped.

  • iLvl decides which STRENGTH of stats an item can have
  • A zone-40 item cannot have the strongest stats: even after crafting
  • Endgame target: iLvl 81+ (drops from tier 15+ maps)
  • iLvl is NOT the requirement level to wear the item: it's separate
  • See an item's iLvl: hover it and press Alt key

Quality (0–20%)

Important

Items have a hidden « quality » percentage that boosts their base properties.

  • Higher quality = more armor / weapon damage / flask recovery / gem effect
  • Caps at 20%
  • Currencies that raise quality:
  • Armourer's Scrap: armor pieces
  • Blacksmith's Whetstone: weapons
  • Glassblower's Bauble: flasks (potions)
  • Gemcutter's Prism: skill gems
  • ★ Apply LATE, not early. Wasting quality on test items burns your stockpile

Mod slots: how many stats fit

Important

Each item has limited room for stats.

  • Magic (Blue) item: max 2 stats: 1 prefix + 1 suffix
  • Rare (Yellow) item: max 6 stats: 3 prefixes + 3 suffixes
  • « Open slot » = an unused stat spot
  • You fill open slots with currencies like Exalted Orb (adds a new stat)
