Which tabs to buy
Stash tabs are the only must-buy MTX in PoE 2. The right four tabs change the game. Below: how to sell offline, buy order by budget, then the full PoE 2 tab catalogue.
How to sell offline (Merchant Tab)
The Merchant Tab is what makes PoE 2 trade asynchronous. It was added in patch 0.3 “The Third Edict”(August 2025). Premium Tab still works for the classic listing-and-whisper flow, but only while you're online.
- Ctrl+click an item in a Merchant Tab, set a price.
- After a 30-second lock, the listing appears on the official trade site and the in-game Market Panel.
- A buyer clicks “Travel to Hideout” and is teleported into your hideout (whether you're online or not).
- They talk to Faustus, the in-hideout merchant, who completes the trade automatically out of your Merchant Tab.
- The currency lands in Ange's Earnings Tab in Kingsmarch (Act 4). You claim it when you log back in.
A gold tax is taken from the buyer based on item rarity / ilvl / quality / mod count. Premium Tabs bought before 2025-08-29 convert to Merchant Tabs for free via pathofexile.com account management.
Unlock: reach Act 4, clear the 5 corner islands of Kingsmarch to spawn Ange. Supporter-pack owners get Ange immediately.
Buy order by budget
Free / starter
0 pts- 4 Basic tabs. Offered at account creation. Survives Act 1-3.
Essential (~115 pts)
Buy first- Currency Tab. Biggest space-per-point gain. By Act 2 your inventory drowns in shards and orbs.
- Merchant Tab (40 pts). Offline sell. Premium Tab still works but only with you online for whispers; Merchant tab lets buyers transact in your hideout while you're logged off.
Build budget (~165 pts)
Once you reach maps- Waystone Tab. Mandatory at T5+. Map sustain becomes a chore without it.
- Another Merchant or Premium Tab. More listing slots = more passive income.
QoL (~270 pts)
Mid-endgame- Premium Quad. Rare storage for crafting and gear shopping.
- Gem Tab. Spirit + Uncut gems pile up fast.
- Socketable Tab. Runes + Soul Cores AND in-tab Rune upgrade.
- Essence Tab. Only if you actually farm essences for crafting.
Endgame / min-max
Optional- Fragment Tab (0.5 launch). Tablets + Trial Keys + boss frags. Drops with patch 0.5 on 2026-05-29.
- Delirium Tab. If you push Simulacrum.
- Ritual Tab. If you farm Omens or chase the King in the Mists.
- Unique Collection. Collector mindset.
- Extra Quad tabs. Loot hoarders.
MVP combo
Across community guides the consensus stays the same: Currency + Merchant (×2-3) + Waystone Tab. Currency for storage, Merchants for passive income, Waystone for map sustain. Everything else is QoL.
Bundles
Premium ×6 = 200 pts (33/tab, saves 40 pts vs unit price). Worth it if you trade seriously and want listing space.
