Map juicing: profit by budget

Juicing means loading one map with every source of extra content and loot, then selling the drops. This is the whole system (waystone, tablets, tree, Master) in three budget tiers. The rule throughout: commit to one mechanic, stack it, sell the drops raw. No complex crafting required.

The four levers

Every juiced map pulls the same four levers. Get all four pointing at the same mechanic.

1
Waystone (the map item)
Roll it for prefixes (Item Quantity, Item Rarity, Pack Size, more Waystones, Monster Rarity). Mod count also unlocks tablet slots: 1 slot at 1-2 mods, 2 at 3-5, 3 at 6+. Suffixes add danger and raise your Waystone drop chance. Must be identified to activate.
2
Tablets (slot at the Map Device)
Slotted with the waystone when you open the map (not in towers, that was pre-0.3.1). Same-type tablets stack, so 2-3 Abyss (or your mechanic) tablets multiply that content. Empty slots add random content. 10 uses each. 8 types: Breach, Expedition, Delirium, Ritual, Abyss, Temple, Overseer, Irradiated.
3
Atlas tree
Priority order: sustain (waystone quantity / tier) → density (rare / pack size / rarity) → one mechanic subtree in full. Base map spawn chances were cut in 0.5, so unspecced content barely appears: the tree decides what you farm.
4
Master profile
One per map, free swap. Doryani (all-rounder, quantity, extra Revive, Irradiated maps), Hilda (rares, Unique monsters, bosses), Jado (strongboxes, extra Uniques, Anomaly maps). Match it to your mechanic.

Precursor Towers are separate: complete a Tower Map to reveal the surrounding Atlas region and to obtain Tablets. The first Tower you finish raises the Fortress.

The master multiplier: Item Rarity
Across every top farming video (Perra, Hax), the biggest lever after density is Increased Rarity of Items found. It is a direct multiplier on your currency and Uniques, so stack it on gear, the Atlas tree, tablets and the waystone at once. Rare monsters carry a large chunk of a map's loot, so pair rarity with anything that makes more rares (Pack Size, Monster Rarity, mechanic density).

Pick a mechanic that sells raw

The point is to avoid crafting. Pick a mechanic whose drops sell for currency as-is:

MechanicWhat you sell rawDiv/hr*
AbyssAncient bones, Omens (, ), Desecrated bases4-10
Grand ExpeditionArtifacts (haggle at Tujen / gamble at Gwennen), Liquid Verisium in bulk10-20
RitualOmens, chase Uniques (defer + reroll)4-12
BreachSplinters, Catalysts, Genesis Tree rings / amulets3-7
Delirium + , Potent / Timelost jewel modsup to 80-100
Vaal TempleOrbs of Sacrifice (zero setup, passive)3-8

*Community estimates (0.5.4). Orders of magnitude, not guarantees. The mechanics are current for 0.5.4, but div/hr and item values move with the economy: check live prices on Trading (poe2scout feed) before committing to a strategy. For the Abyss full setup see the Abyss deep-dive.

Solo vs combo: how mixing works

You mix activities by splitting your Map Device tablet slots across different tablet types on the same map, not by overlapping tower radii (that was the pre-0.3.1 system). With 3 slots (4 on City maps) you run a primary mechanic on 2 tablets plus one amplifier. Your Atlas tree can only fully spec one subtree, so it commits to the primary; the secondary rides on shared monster density.

The synergy engine
  • Ritual = universal amplifier. Altars revive the monsters around them, so it turns any dense pack (Breach, Delirium, Abyss) into extra Tribute → Omens and Uniques. Bolt 1 Ritual tablet onto almost anything.
  • Delirium = universal multiplier. The fog boosts monster count, rarity and toughness for everything inside it, feeding Abyss rare-steal and Ritual tribute alike. Costs clear speed.
  • Expedition = loner. Grand Expedition is its own encounter area and does not share the density engine. Run it focused, do not dilute its slots.
  • Vaal Temple / Overseer = passive layers. Add them without an Atlas commitment for boss drops and Orbs of Sacrifice.

The profitable setups (all of them)

Abyss + Delirium + RitualS-tier divine meta

The reference farm (Perra, ~150 div/hr). The trick: only Abyss uses tablet slots. Run a City map (4 slots) with Unforeseen Consequences + Abyss tablets (rare count, +Abyssal Modifier chance, +2 rares per Abyss). Add Delirium for free with a Grand Mirror (200% deli, no tablets) and Ritual via the Rite of the Nameless (no tablets). Stack Item Rarity (~240%). Master: Jado. Full detail on the Abyss deep-dive.

Breach + Ritualdensity → tribute

Breach dumps huge dense packs; Ritual revives them for big Tribute. Tablets: 2 Breach + 1 Ritual. Atlas: Breach subtree + Ritual tribute nodes. Master: Doryani or Hilda. Sells: , Catalysts, Genesis Tree rings, Ritual Omens / Uniques.

Delirium + Ritualhigh skill, high ceiling

Delirium-spawned monsters (Kosis, Omniphobia) get revived at Ritual altars for large Tribute (Maxroll-confirmed). Tablets: 2 Delirium + 1 Ritual. Atlas: Delirium subtree. Needs real clear speed. Sells: , Potent / Timelost jewel mods, Omens.

Grand ExpeditionS-tier, solo

Standalone, do not mix. Tablets: 3 Expedition. Atlas: the 24-node Expedition tree (Extra Remnant, Feeling Lucky?). Sells: artifacts (haggle at Tujen, gamble at Gwennen) and Liquid Verisium in bulk. Low-medium investment, 10-20 div/hr reported.

Strongbox + Essenceno dedicated tablet

Neither has a tablet type, so juice them through the Atlas tree + Master: Strongbox / Essence density nodes + Jado (100% Unique box chance, extra Rare chests). Use Irradiated tablets for generic quantity. Sells: Greater / Perfect Essences, box currency. A cheap layer more than a standalone divine farm.

Ritual (solo)unique hunting

Without a density partner, Ritual chases big-ticket Uniques and Omens via defer + reroll. Tablets: 1-2 Ritual + generic quantity. Master: Doryani. Best when a specific Unique (, ) is expensive.

Vaal Temple + Overseerpassive layers

Free add-ons to any farm. Temple tablets add Vaal Beacons (or just let temples trigger passively for Orbs of Sacrifice from Atziri). Overseer tablets empower Map Bosses, which pairs with Hilda for boss Uniques. No Atlas commitment needed.

Note
You cannot fully juice three mechanics at once: the Atlas tree only affords one full subtree, and you have 3-4 tablet slots. Pick one primary currency engine (Abyss, Breach or Grand Expedition), then add Ritual and/or Delirium as amplifiers if your build can clear the extra density.

The three budget tiers

Tier 1

Starting endgame

~0-5 div bankroll

Goal: stop running out of maps and build a stable income. Do not spend on perfect rolls yet.

  • Waystone: Alch (or Trans + Aug) just to get 3+ mods so you unlock a 2nd tablet slot. Do not reroll for perfection.
  • Tablets: 1-2 cheap unrolled / low tablets of your chosen mechanic. Do not over-invest.
  • Atlas: Waystone sustain first (Constant Crossroads, Fortunate Path, The High Road), then generic density, then start your mechanic subtree.
  • Master: Doryani (extra Revive, quantity, survivability while you learn).
  • Sell: everything raw, do not hoard. Mechanic currency (splinters / bones / artifacts) + rare drops.
Tier 2

Committed farmer

~5-50 div

Goal: a repeatable single-mechanic loop that clears its own cost several times over.

  • Waystone: roll to 4-6 mods for 3 tablet slots. Want Quantity / Rarity / Pack Size / more Waystones prefixes. Skip deadly suffixes (see below).
  • Tablets: 3 same-type tablets rolled (or bought) for the top mechanic mods, e.g. Abyss “Pits always have Rewards” + “extra Abysses” + “Difficulty and Reward per closed Pit”.
  • Atlas: full mechanic subtree (unlock the gated reward nodes) + all tablet-effect nodes + strong density. Add a second mechanic that shares density (Abyss + Delirium, Breach + Ritual).
  • Master: Hilda for rare / boss value, or Jado if you lean on strongboxes.
  • Sell: mechanic currency in bulk + Omens. At most one light craft (essence-slam or a single desecrate on a good base). No multi-step crafting.
Tier 3

Full juice

~50+ div

Goal: maximum density per map. This is where the 50-150 div/hr reports come from, and it needs a build that can actually clear it.

  • Waystone: best-rolled T15, -corrupt for a T16 or an extra mod. Instil with a Distilled Emotion for flat Pack Size (cheap, huge).
  • Tablets: 3 (or 4 on Citadel maps) 3-mod rares, or unique tablets: (Abyss blow-out, 14-18 extra Abysses), (Delirium fog never dissipates).
  • Atlas: full subtree including the Overrun-spread nodes (Stir the Swarm, Endless War) to chain juiced maps; stack 2-3 mechanics on one map.
  • Master: optimised per mechanic (Hilda for boss / Unique value on high-density maps).
  • Sell: everything in bulk lots. Run Citadels / Fortress for extra points and pinnacle access alongside the farm.

Waystone rolling cheat-sheet

Want (prefixes)
  • % increased Item Quantity
  • % increased Item Rarity
  • % increased Pack Size
  • % increased Monster Rarity
  • more Waystones found (sustain)
Skip (deadly suffixes, caster)
  • Monsters penetrate Elemental Res
  • extra damage as Chaos
  • Less Recovery
  • more Monster Crit chance / multi

Best generic tablet suffixes for any farm (poe2db): “(30-40)% increased Quantity of Waystones found” (sustain), “Rare Monsters have a (50-80)% Surpassing chance for an additional Modifier”, “Unique Monsters have 1 additional Rare Modifier”, and “Map has (1-2) additional random Modifiers”. More on the Waystones tab.

The profit rule
Density beats rarity of setup. One map with 3 stacked tablets, a full subtree and a matching Master out-earns three unfocused maps. Convert drops to currency the same session (vendor artifacts, sell bone / splinter / omen lots) instead of hoarding, and only craft when it is a single deterministic step. Complex multi-step crafting is a different job, not map farming.
